Despite his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge changes in people’s lives, including his own. The cast of “Shrinking” share their most memorable moments as their characters in Season 1 and reveal who impressed Harrison Ford the most. When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel, and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford to join the show, Segel said that Goldstein initially wanted a “Harrison Ford type” and intended to cast people who looked like Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they should at least introduce him to Ford, thinking he would immediately decline, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford had been offered the project, sparking interest from other big-name actors.
Eventually, Goldstein spoke to Ford and sold him the role. Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but he was still elated.. Featured on WatchMojo: The 10 Best TV Shows of 2023 (So Far) (2023). And the rest of the show is great, too.
He has the weird, idiotically confident energy that the role requires. Her humor is just right for the dialogue. It’s a new way of doing situational drama. No special features, just engaging personalities with a hint of weirdness, and family circumstances that are a little bit beyond the norm, but still similar.
Of course, Jimmy’s behavior as a therapist is completely absurd. You’d lose your license immediately. But in drama, we allow metaphorical situations. And in this script, we feel a strong sense of directionality.
We have to give the writers a benefit and try to get the point across. It’s easy and fun for me.
