CIA operative Joe tries to balance his personal and professional life as the tip of the spear in the agency’s war on terrorism-based activity, etc… Best new show in the world.
After the disappointing 4th season of Jack Ryan and the lackluster performances all around, this felt a lot better in every way. It looks really well done and the action/fight scenes look great.
I feel like most of the criticism of this show in the comments section seems to come down to how unrealistic it is because of the whole camerawoman thing, and I for one, man, I don’t mind a good female-led action show that’s an original IP that doesn’t turn the male lead into the female lead. I also initially thought it was going to be more of an action-first, pointless show, but then they kind of dove into the family a bit, and I usually cringe at that, but I didn’t like what they did there.
My only criticism is that the plot of what this particular group of operators are doing is very story-limiting and could kill it by going past the plot of the season/villain…it needs to be more overarching so they can eventually create a new, more intense, fast-paced action Homeland, otherwise it risks becoming too episodic like The Blacklist. PS: So far, Nicole Kidman’s role is incredibly small and uneventful and could have been done by anyone else…We’re not sure.
But from what I’ve seen so far, the show can hold its own with Zaldana and any other A-Lister. TLDR Overall Cautiously optimistic, but I like what I’ve seen so far, everything is incredibly polished and well done.
