In 1980s Indiana, a group of young friends witness supernatural forces and secret government exploits. As they search for answers, the kids uncover a series of extraordinary mysteries. Steve Perry, former lead singer of Journey, said that the Stranger Things season 4 remix of Journey’s 1980 hit “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)” was done pretty much the way he originally wanted it back in the 1980s, but didn’t have the technology.
During several episodes, people are seen “interrupting” someone talking on a two-way or CB radio — that is, one person is talking/transmitting, and another person transmits to interrupt them, and then the other person hears the interruption and stops transmitting. This was done a few times on the kids’ CB radios and on the radios used by police. These radios — the CB and police radios of the show’s era — don’t work that way.
The opening titles and fonts for Stranger Things mimic the film grain and look of the opening credits from the 1980s television series. I’m one of those people who was put off by the thought that this was a kids’ drama, from the advertising you’d swear this was meant for an after-school airtime at 4 o’clock, the reality is far from it. As someone who grew up in the 80s, I can appreciate the detail that went into the production, it’s like they went back and filmed it live, it’s incredibly well done. I absolutely love the music, it’s so fitting, takes me back to those wonderful 80’s shows.
Quality in the first and second seasons, I like the build up and tension that is abundant in the first.
