The expander is very tight, barely compresses by 1 cm. Made entirely of metal, the handles are planted tight and rolled with mesh corrugated. Good stuff, I ordered 150 pounds but it's super hard. It needs to be loosened with use. Super recommended, just consider strength. For 300 pounds it must be a super strong arm. Arrived in Mexico in less than 15 days
